AN EXCLUSIVE RETREAT

Nestled in the beautiful woodlands surrounding the Porth Reservoir, with stunning views and 62 acres of historic Estate to explore, this is a total escape from the pressures of 21st century living. Whilst we do provide access to a fast wifi connection, there are various onsite facilities at your disposal which will allow you to enjoy your stay at a slower, more relaxed pace whilst still enjoying the benefits of our amazing leisure areas and contemporary wet rooms.

The Barn

The Barn is a quiet area overlooking the Porth Reservoir. This can be used for reading, meditating, yoga, or simply enjoying some quiet time.

The Cowshed

Built from scratch on the site of the old cattle shed, the Cowshed houses 8 showers and 8 toilets as well as a large leisure area to relax.

The Terrace

Outside the Cowshed, there is a large terraced area which benefits from the afternoon sun. There is an outdoor kitchen available for catered BBQ's (on request).

Upper Terrace

On the other side of the Cowshed there is another terrace, where guests can relax on the seating and enjoy the morning sun.

HOW THE SITE WORKS

  • Our yurts are available to book for weekend, mid-week and one week stays throughout the year.

  • Each yurt has the capacity to sleep up to 6 people comfortably, with the possibility of more, but please email us in advance to discuss any specific requirements.

  • Each yurt has its own private area with a wooden deck. BBQ facilities and a food preparation area are provided a short distance away, together with a wood supply and fire lighting equipment.

  • Kitchen areas include a gas stove, cool box, pots and pans, running water as well as tea and coffee making facilities.

  • Crockery, cutlery, glasses, cooking pots and utensils etc are also provided.

  • We will provide a squirrel proof, air tight box for non-refrigerated food per yurt.

  • Food can be ordered online and delivered from a local supermarket.

  • There are various takeaway and delivery services operating locally.

  • By arrangement, barbecues can be organised by us at our central outdoor kitchen for a fixed price. This is usually only an option for groups of 10 adults or more.

  • Please note that we are not licensed to supply alcoholic drinks although you are very welcome to bring your own.

  • Wifi is available in the area around the Barn and Cowshed ...and some yurts, by their proximity to these buildings, also get a decent signal.

  • We provide a rinsing water tank for cleaning wetsuits

  • A large television is available for use by children to keep them occupied on those rare rainy days(!)

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

  • Towels and toiletries

  • Water bottles for use at night time in the yurts

  • Wellies (just in case)

  • Our yurts are a shoe free zone - a watertight storage box will be provided but we recommend bringing slippers or suitable indoor shoes.

  • Whilst torches and lamps are provided within the yurts, it is always useful to have a spare.

  • Wetsuits etc for surfing (although wetsuits, surf boards and body boards are readily available to hire on most beaches)

  • Bike racks are provided, but not locks and chains

  • Whilst we provide a plentiful supply of wood, this can be a slow cooking process, therefore you may want to bring your own supply of charcoal, or buy it locally.
